Description of the research topic:

The issue of patient pathway management in Hungary and its absence raises critical questions regarding the efficiency of the healthcare system and the quality of patient care. Optimal patient pathway management facilitates more efficient utilization of healthcare resources, timely provision of patient care, and focus on disease prevention and treatment. However, the current system's shortcomings, such as fragmented care, lack of information, and coordination deficits, pose serious challenges for both healthcare professionals and patients. Research on this topic is essential to gain deeper insights into the current state of patient pathway management, identify the root causes of problems, and develop more effective solutions to improve patient care, thereby contributing to the sustainability of the healthcare system and enhancing patients' quality of life. Focusing on oncological and diabetology patient pathway management is particularly important as these diseases impose significant burdens on both the healthcare system and individuals, requiring heightened attention and coordination for optimal treatment.
