Description of the research topic:

Community pharmacy staff are considered as first and last-line healthcare professionals; they have pivotal roles in ensuring the supply of medicines, and in maintaining patient safety. During the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic, and as a results of the subsequent changes affecting the healthcare system in Hungary, pharmacy staff were exposed to considerable additional workload. Chronic stress and allostatic overload have pronounced health effects, and are proven risk factors for many chronic, non-communicable diseases. The aim of this study is to assess the workplace satisfaction levels, burnout rates – and associated correlates – of pharmacy staff in Hungary since the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, using quantitative epidemiological methods.
