Description of the research topic:

There is a general trend in the global business world that companies are increasingly thinking in the supply chain, not just in the value chain within a company, adopting the view that supply chains are competing with each other rather than companies. In Hungary, small and medium-sized enterprises also play a significant role in supply chains, primarily among suppliers and intermediaries. According to the domestic and international literature, with the advent of the supply chain management approach, stocks in supply chain companies decrease, innovation accelerates, and the level of customer service increases: overall, competitiveness improves. According to research, the benefits of networking and close collaboration are already being reaped by large companies with a dominant role in the supply chain. The relational economy can therefore be a breaking point today especially for the small and medium-sized enterprise sector. The aim of the research is to examine the presence of the supply chain management approach among Hungarian small and medium enterprises: to what extent can the supply chain management approach be discovered in Hungarian small and medium enterprises, exactly what supply chain management methods are spreading, what are the power relations in partnerships, what is the nature of the collaborations and what is the approach of the Hungarian strategic leaders. Another important goal of the research is to examine the relationship between the factors of cooperation in the supply chain and competitiveness, ie to find the key points in the context of the supply chain that can be used to increase the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.
