Description of the research topic:
The recent rapid proliferation of smart devices and the significant growth of computing power has brought about a rapid expansion of artificial intelligence in almost all areas of our lives, and these technical solutions have opened a new era in the business sphere, including in the insurance and financial fields. Their use in the insurance sector can increase the efficiency of risk analysis and decision-making, the profitability of insurance companies and customer satisfaction.
Examples of questions that could be addressed by academic research in this area include:
• Risk analysis and forecasting: how can artificial intelligence be used to model insurance risks more accurately than ever before, by using large unstructured databases?
• Insurance pricing and product development: how can AI be used to develop dynamic pricing models, optimize insurance products, and create personalized offers based on individual risk profiles?
• Fraud detection and prevention: how effectively can AI detect fraud and thereby minimize financial losses for insurance companies?
• Portfolio and asset-liability management: how can AI be integrated into portfolio optimization strategies, asset allocation decisions and risk management to achieve better investment outcomes?
Researching these questions from an interdisciplinary perspective can contribute to the synthesis of knowledge among economists, actuaries and data scientists and thus to the development and innovation of the insurance industry.
