Description of the research topic:

We are seeking PhD applicants interested in investigating the dynamic landscape of pet ownership as indicated by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) surveys. This research will delve into historical data, spanning decades of voluntary surveys, to uncover the shifts in pet-related activities and their societal implications. Applicants will have the opportunity to analyze trends from the time budget surveys, including pet care, walking, and other related activities, across various time periods and settlement types. This project promises to offer insights into the changing relationship between society and pets, underlining the growing importance of domestic animals in our lives.
