Abbreviation of location of studies: H-REN

Description of the research topic:

Cancer is a disease caused by genetic mutations. To understand the effect of each of these mutations, controlled experiments are conducted where the effect of a specific mutation is measured. However, cancers generally harbor multiple mutations and these mutations interact. This presents a problem as measuring the effect of single mutations tells us little about how tumors of complex genotypes will behave. Generating a multitude of complex genotypes (e.g. double mutants) on the other hand, especially using in vivo experimental models, is not a trivial task and therefore limits our understanding of how mutliple mutations orchestrate cancer progression.
