Description of the research topic:
The rural development can be interpreted as a new paradigm for the development of agriculture, but also involve the development of the local economy and local society. Rural development – unlike regional development – applies alternative economic theories and different regional approaches in development activities and the local community and its understanding and involvement plays a decisive role. The rurality is not only the scene of food production but also the place of extremely diverse economic, cultural and social functions of rural people. Rural development is typically interdisciplinary area of science, academic and research tasks could include sociology, demography, regional science, geography and economics. The choice of this topic means the recognition of rural communities as well. Categories to be examined are e.g.: human capital, social capital, the endogenous resources, subsidiarity and the state of the local society. The characteristic categories of the rural development methodology are the territorial demarcation, community development, local economic development, the development of the components of quality of life in rural areas and in certain groups of rural communities. It also includes the social welfare system characteristics, and study of anomie among the rural population. Together or separately with the former can be analysed the change in the demographic situation of rural places, as well as its socio-economic causes and effects.
