Description of the research topic:

The production of nanoparticles by “green synthesis” has attracted increasing attention. These methods include processes based on the use of plant metabolites, in which the reactants needed to produce nanoparticles are extracted from plants. The advantage of this method is the easy availability of plant-derived materials and therefore, a more cost-effective and eco-friendly particle synthesis. In addition, since the biologically active components of the extracts can bind on the surface of the nanoparticles, the formation of novel nanostructures with beneficial properties can be achieved. The aim of this research is to synthesize different nanoparticles using plant extracts and then investigate their antimicrobial activity against foodborne pathogens.
