Description of the research topic:

Adaptation to environmental stress involves several plant physiological processes, including changes in photosynthesis, cellular respiration, and different metabolic pathways. Many signaling pathways play an important role in adaptations, with indirect effects on redox balance and the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). In our research, we mainly aim to study the influence of ROS formation on energy balance in Arabidopsis thaliana model plants. We plan to investigate changes in redox balance, ROS levels, photosynthetic and mitochondrial functions, energy production, and programmed cell death, and their relationships with each other.
