Description of the research topic:

Rapidly evolving technology has led to unprecedented advances in digitalisation, automation
and robotics. Labour shortages have appeared, old professions are disappearing and new ones
are emerging. This labour shortage leaves workers in a bargaining position, while employers
have a wide range of flexible employment options. Atypical jobs are on the increase and
traditional occupations are becoming less and less common. A talented workforce can be
mobilised very quickly, i.e. it can be moved anywhere in the world. The winners will be those
businesses that recognise the opportunities and take advantage of them. Where employees are
retained through complex, people-centred measures, where the reputation of the company is
spread through good employee reviews, where tasks are well organised, where recruitment
can be flexible and creative, there will be every opportunity for growth. And it will be up to the human resources strategy to put these changes into practice.
As part of the primary research, the doctoral student will carry out questionnaire data collection and in-depth interviews to investigate the organisational impact of the various
measures.
