THESIS TOPIC PROPOSAL

Institute: Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest
chemistry
György Hevesy Doctoral School of Chemistry

Thesis supervisor: András Kotschy
Location of studies (in Hungarian): Servier Research Institute of Medicinal Chemistry
Abbreviation of location of studies: SRIMC

Description of the research topic:

The aim of the research is the development of new synthetic methodology leading to compound classes that are interesting for original drug discovery. The doctoral research includes the application of the toolbox of modern synthetic chemists (biocatalysis, transition metal catalysis, photoredox transformations, asymmetrical synthesis) in the preparation of the selected cores as well as in the establishment of their desired substitution patterns. Parallel to working on the synthetic objectives there is also the possibility to experimentally study the mechanism of the transformations.

Required language skills: English
Further requirements:
Experience in synthetic organic chemistry

Number of students who can be accepted: 2

Deadline for application: 2024-05-31
