Description of the research topic:
Investigation of the effects of different plant conditioning and/or vigour components on the development of vegetative organs, plant vigour, flowering and yield. Research will also focus on optimising the application of the conditioners/roborants. Furthermore, the optimal application of active substances to counteract abiotic/biotic stress effects will be investigated. The treatments are planned in arable and/or horticultural crops with different utilization, in pot experiments and small plot experiments, complemented by molecular genetic tests.
The aim is to monitor changes in the gene expression of the control and the treated populations as a result of the treatment, as well as to detect changes in individual biochemical processes. After mRNA sequencing of the plant samples, transcriptomic studies would be carried out (in silico), whose results would be supplemented with in situ measurements. Depending on the results obtained, we would also measure the activity of the enzymes involved in the biochemical processes triggered by the treatments. Correspondingly, we can obtain important data on the gene-level changes and biochemical processes in plant life processes that occur as a consequence of the treatment. We can also test the effect of the treatment on yields, vegetative and generative development.
