Description of the research topic:

Injury and illness force athletes to reduce training volume and intensity or altogether stop training. Imaging data suggest that MI of motor actions activate the same areas in the brain as the actual motor actions. It is thus possible that MI could help reduce function loss in athletes forced to detrain. The purpose of this study to examine the effects of MI on effects of motor imagery (MI) training on strength and power performances of professional athletes during a period of detraining.
