Description of the research topic:

Certain clinical conditions affect one limb’s function. Stroke, fractures, KOA, and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery afflict the function of one limb. Over 100 years ago, psychologists accidentally discovered that exercising one limb improved the function of the same muscle pair in the non-exercised limb. Todate, no studies have examined yet if cross-education could improve function of the involved limb in KOA. The purpose of this study is to examine for the first time the effects of cross-education on function and symptoms of the involved leg in individuals with radiographically diagnosed KOA.
