Description of the research topic:

The aim of the research is to provide an overview of the international and domestic practices related to day surgery, tracing the development of care provision. The study examines the trends in the utilization rates of day surgery, both before and after the introduction of performance volume limits. Numerous procedures are known to be suitable for day surgery or can be performed within the framework of active inpatient care. Therefore, the study also presents the various levels of progressiveness in the performance indicators of the service and examines the impact of day surgery on institutional financing for patient care.
