Description of the research topic:

For a decade and a half, the European Union has been hit by a succession of crises that have significantly reshaped the model of the role of the state in a market economy that was previously established and considered to be the right one to follow. It is clear that major changes have already taken place in the wake of the Covid-19 epidemic, which is reflected in the EU's increased powers to provide economic aid to Member States. The Russia-Ukraine war has opened a new stage in the process, with the emergence of an energy crisis that has further increased the already wide range of possibilities for Member State intervention. Therefore, the analysis of the role of the state and how changes in state aid law can be integrated into the European Union's competition policy regime is an inevitable question. Within this context, research can focus on a variety of issues, in particular those that examine the requirements of state intervention as expectations of Member States within the European Union.
