Description of the research topic:

Building on the maturing technology of various virtual reality hardware and software the metaverse solution is gaining ground in various application areas. The capabilities of advanced xR applications in the metaverse allows users to engage in new ways. Consequently, the goal of the metaverse goes beyond simply replicating reality. This research analyses how the technology creates space and how it allows avatars to move and interact in order to understand the differences between place awareness and identity building in virtual worlds compared to the real world.
