Description of the research topic:
The primary aim of the study is to protect the mental state of health care professionals working in the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic against the distress of their jobs.
Our research focuses on two areas. In part, 1) we use a complex method including periodic personal consultations, and regular psychophysiological screenings to identify health workers whose mental health is beginning to deteriorate as a result of stress, increasing the risk of burnout and the possibility of suicide. We try to restore the mental health of screened, vulnerable workers primarily with individual therapy, and we also add 2) music therapy group sessions, which are evaluated by quantitative and qualitative methods regarding effectiveness.
