Description of the research topic:

The transition to a circular economy is becoming an increasingly important challenge for companies. Increasing local embeddedness in the development of new production processes and new value chains can provide new development opportunities for the local economy. Merging of industries and strengthening of networking creates opportunities for new SME’s to join and for companies to become more local. In the focus of the research, it is necessary to analyse how the transition to a circular economy is implemented in practice, and how the transition strengthens local embedding and networking.
