Description of the research topic:
Making the value chain and life cycle of forestry and wood industry products sustainable is one of the key issues of wood industry management, which is already a priority among the strategic goals of the FAO. The sustainable wood industry can play an important role in the radical reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and in dealing with the economic, social and environmental problems of the developing world. One of the main obstacles to change is the poor social perception of the wood industry, which mainly causes problems on the demand side and during the collection of funds for international programs. The preservation and increase of forest areas, which are key to the carbon targets, can only be imagined if, on the one hand, we understand that the forest is basically a source of raw materials. It leads to ruthless deforestation and the use of former forest land in other sectors if the "forest" does not provide adequate profitability. On the other hand, technologies that are sustainable must be supported in the entire forestry and wood industry value chain. This complex problem can be analyzed according to technological, economic and marketing aspects. Due to the complexity of the problem, some regions, products, value chains, procedures, regulatory anomalies, etc. analysis may also seem appropriate.
