Description of the research topic:

Continuous innovation and continuous adaptation are the basic conditions for ecologically, socially and economically sustainable agriculture. A significant number of Hungarian agricultural producers are currently over 60 years old, so it is timely to hand over the baton. However, each change in the person of the decision-maker requires complex preparation. The aim of the research is to explore the development possibilities of agricultural enterprises, their management characteristics, the driving forces and braking forces of innovation in the light of the generational change. Compliance with the above conditions requires the continuation of multi-directional research. During the research, viability, profitability (cost-benefit analysis), and producer risk management can be examined by examining economic effects, setting up models, and preparing farmer surveys. In the framework of the research topic, the economic effects, investment demand, human factors, market and sales relations of the implementation of innovations involving the change of generations can also be examined. The obtained results can well orient the organizations and persons responsible for sectoral management in shaping the agricultural innovation policy.
