Description of the research topic:

In the European Union's Industry 5.0 concept, digitisation and automation, and related R&D&I, are at the service of the transition to a sustainable, human-centred and resilient European economy. The ambitious objectives of the EU Green Deal, to achieve a climate-neutral and circular economy, require the full involvement of industry. All supply chains play a key role in this, while the green and digital transition also aims to improve global competitiveness. All this enables to formulate numerous research questions in the topic. It can be analysed the application and effectiveness of existing practices, or, for example, the impact of relevant policies, motivations, drivers and barriers. The research may refer to a specific sector or area (e.g. SMEs, specific industrial sectors), to a particular factor (e.g. the role of human resources, organizational culture, organization maturity, models), to national characteristics or to an international comparative study. The chosen methodology can be both qualitative and quantitative, adapted to the research question.
