Description of the research topic:

At the center of individual needs, the need (compulsion) for self-care is the determining factor, in which the strengthening of social insecurity, the increase in life expectancy and the lack of stability in the workplace also play a role. On the other hand, the change in the financial sector is primarily the deregulation of the financial markets.
The outstanding role of financial culture is given by the fact that in order to satisfy the changed needs of individuals, they have to look for financial products that are increasingly complicated and opaque. In this formulation, financial culture forms a bridge between emerging social needs and the financial products that try to satisfy them.
Overall, the financial culture of individuals has an indirect and direct effect on macroeconomic processes, including monetary and budgetary policy, as well as the functioning of financial markets, i.e. the financial system as a whole. The fact that financial markets have developed faster than people's financial culture highlights the outstanding importance of developing financial culture.
