Description of the research topic:

Protein deposits of different types can be observed in several neurodegenerative disorders. Since the number, size, shape, and tissue distribution of these protein aggregates could be related to the progression of the disease, these parameters have high post-mortem diagnostic values. Mapping, microscopic image analysis and quantitative morphometric characterization of the progressive, hierarchical-regional distribution of the different protein deposits could be of paramount importance in the diagnosis of such pathologies.
