Description of the research topic:

The aim of the research is to determine the presence and composition of Lactobacillus bacterial strains in colorectal cancer, as well as to understand, explore, and genotype their role in the development, progression, and advancement of colorectal cancer. Genotyping is done using freshly isolated cell lines. The long-term goal is to develop a probiotic strategy based on research findings that could be effective in reducing the incidence of colorectal cancer, which is currently a global issue. Our results may contribute to further prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer beyond the existing protocols, thus expanding the arsenal of possible treatment modalities.
