Description of the research topic:
During our work, our aim is to understand the molecular basis of the mechanisms of action of both potentially chemopreventive compounds and food additives. We conduct our experiments on specially bred strains of mice that consume a specific diet and are sensitive to tumor formation. From their organs, we determine the expression of the genes of interest at the mRNA level using quantitative Real-Time PCR. From our results, we infer the role of the compounds under investigation in regulating metabolic and signaling pathways, inducing or inhibiting apoptosis. By publishing our findings, we aim to reveal possibilities through which we can reduce the risk of tumor formation.
