Description of the research topic:

Objectives

Detailed overview of the development of inhalation devices, with particular emphasis on device introductions over the past 50 years, also presenting the latest technologies.
Examination of changes in the characteristic parameters of the use of preparations for the treatment of chronic respiratory diseases (asthma, COPD) using the databases of the National Health Insurance Fund, based on:
a. Hungarian regions
b. Months of the year
and how these relate to the epidemiological data of the diseases.
Retrospective examination of the frequency of drug refill (therapeutic persistence) by type of inhalation device based on domestic drug substitution data per patient.
There are only a few data in the literature regarding active substances, so it would be novel to examine the relationship between inhalation devices and therapeutic persistence.
It could be answered whether the refill rate of preparations is higher with easier-to-use inhalation devices.
