Description of the research topic:
Two, biofuels related global problems need to be highlighted: overpopulation and the associated growing
demand for food and energy, and global warming. The so-called first-generation biofuels currently used
only partially answer these, as a significant part of the raw materials used to produce them can also be
used for food production. However, use of biofuels can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It
is also a fact that biofuels offer the only economically viable and technologically operating solution.
Significant improvements are being made with different, non-edible feedstocks and other alternative fuels
(green electricity, biogas, green hydrogen), but the majority of the global vehicle fleet will continue to run
on internal combustion engines for a long time. The aspects of the topic are environmental, economic,
and social
Further requirements: Potential PhD students should be committed to the topic and be able to work independently. In the case
of country-level analysis, a good local network is an advantage
