Description of the research topic:

To achieve better competitiveness, firms deploy digital solutions throughout their operations. This phenomenon in the manufacturing sector is called Industry 4.0 or smart manufacturing. The impact of digital changes goes beyond the boundaries of the firms and eventually influences the structure of the supply network (relations). Or in some cases, partners in the supply network motivate digitalisation in a firm. Our empirical research aims to explore digitalisation patterns in firms and in supply networks and to analyse the business/financial outcomes on these levels.
