Description of the research topic:

The U.S. gave up its ’bloc’-approach towards the East- and Central European communist countries in the mind-1950s, and tried to differentiate among them. As the ”Russia First” approach was present all through this period, the research aims at exploring the dynamics of this two-faced policy.
