Description of the research topic:
The southern part of Europe is the world of belated nationalisms and incomplete unities. The interested European powers looked at the ongoing processes with great concern and until the Second World War the main European actors influenced the fate of the territory with more or less success. These interventions could take different forms: among other things, cultural and economic means were used. The study of the territory’s political history promises only a few new and substantial discovery, but the mapping of the interventions, the manifestations of the soft power can clarify many processes with consequences that we feel even today.
