Description of the research topic:

Researches related to the cultural heritage of minority and marginalized groups in the case of the Hungarian Roma or other minority groups in Hungary or elsewhere. The relationships and hierarchies between the cultural canons of the majority society and minority groups either in institutionalized context (in museums or other public organs) or in bottom-up, non-institutionalized cultural practices. Theoretical approaches (what do we mean by minority culture, what is the relationship between the mainstream and minority canons, the critical analysis of cultural rights and cultural diversity as international policy buzzwords) or empirical research of case studies.
