Description of the research topic:

This topic covers the field of literary translation both from Hungarian to English and from English to Hungarian. Close-reading analysis of published translations as well as examining the interaction between various media, institutions, agents, and theories contributing to the constantly expanding ouevre are included in the research. The focus is on contemporary authors and translators in the light of the current results of translation studies, but historical aspects are also considered.
