Description of the research topic:

Petrarch's poetry was strongly influenced by medieval love poetry, from the troubadours and the Sicilian school to the dolce stil nuovo and Dante's juvenile poems, but his individual style also served as a model for almost all European poetry later, especially from the 16th century onwards.
