Establishment and maintenance a secure municipal water supply has a high priority, which belongs primarily to the field of technical and military technical sciences. Water supply that meets quantitative and qualitative needs is a basic requirement in our society today, failure or partial fulfilment of which can often be a source of military conflict. The topic covers the design and operation of water and wastewater technologies that can efficiently and sustainably exploit our public water resources and then return them to the receiving water body without harming the environment. Water treatment and wastewater treatment technologies are a set of well-defined and well-connected physical, chemical and biological unit processes, the design and operation of which requires a systematic knowledge of the processes taking place in the basins and reactors.
Research objectives:
Examination of the following research questions: 1. technical, economic and legal aspects of closing the open municipal water cycle; 2. elaboration and development of sustainable water industry technologies, 3. design and operation of municipal water supply systems, taking into account the continuity of supply, public and environmental health aspects.
Research methods:
• Investigation of the related literature,
• Investigation of the state-of-the-art technologies in water industry,
• Research and development of databases and other electronic support sources,
• Research simulation environments,
Planned new scientific results to be achieved:
As a result of the research activity: 1. Development of modern, sustainable municipal water supply technological solutions, 2. Operational optimization of existing municipal water supply systems 3. Determining future trends and development directions
