Description of the research topic:

Scientific problem*

The changed social, economic and environmental thinking of our time is looking for solutions to modify and develop the vehicle propulsion systems of the future. Pollution, depleting fossil fuels, sustainable development, and new technological advances offer and demand new opportunities. There are different, additional needs, development opportunities and new directions for the drive systems. Knowing the basics, it is worth examining the possible manifestations of certain existing hybrid drive chains, their advantages, disadvantages and constructional features. By analyzing the usable energy sources and performing the related elementary calculations, we are looking for new possibilities at the theoretical and practical implementation level. By analyzing the pairing solutions appearing in the hybrid drive chain and optimizing and evaluating them for the given task, we are looking for possible solutions to achieve the most favorable operating conditions in the studied area. We are looking for applicable elements of sustainable development through environmental studies and their review.

Research objectives:

By taking the course, doctoral students get an insight into the social, energetic and environmental conditions of vehicle hybrid propulsion systems, the needs arising in each operating system and the solution alternatives provided by each hybrid construction. Using elementary calculations in a way that shapes vision, they gain insight into new research solutions and possible development directions on an objective basis. They get to know the additional requirements and expectations of aircraft, vehicles and military equipment in a way that determines their way of thinking. We look for the characteristics of hybrid powertrains in aircraft, vehicles and the military environment, identify the advantages of the designs that are advantageous for use, and reduce the effects of the disadvantageous elements.

New scientific result to be achieved:

Selection of optimal mixed, hybrid drive forms for the given task in the given vehicle drive area, evaluation of their advantages and disadvantages on an objective numerical basis. Searching for a solution to the challenges of the problems that have arisen, designating further research and measurement directions. Strengthening positive results, eliminating and reducing negative effects.
