Description of the research topic:

This research investigates health inequalities in the European Union, focusing on the distribution of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) across different socioeconomic groups and regions. NCDs present a significant public health challenge in the EU, contributing to a substantial portion of deaths and disease burden. The study aims to utilize agent-based micro-simulation to develop a dynamic model assessing the impact of healthcare policies, regional economic development, healthcare infrastructure, and environmental factors on NCD prevalence. Additionally, it plans to propose and simulate interventions, such as public health campaigns and policy adjustments, to address and reduce health inequalities. The work plan includes detailed data collection, and dissemination strategies, with a flexible approach and contingency plans to manage potential risks.
