Description of the research topic:
In this course we will examine current contemporary image fields (photos, videos on the internet, (self)-representations on Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, etc.) and we will read different image theories, both „contemporary” and „classical theories” concerning the questions of imagery. The main objectives of the course are the following: 1., to understand and to describe the typical features of contemporary image fields and current image usage methods among theoretical frames; 2., to examine the position of the subject in those theories (how they reflect on the position of the subject, on the absence or the presence of the subject); 3.,to give the students useful theories and theoretical backgrounds in order to relate the problem of the subject to their own research fields.
