Description of the research topic:
The field of research focuses on the interdependence and relation of time and contemporary sculpture. Sculpture by its classical definition is the branch of visual arts that operates in three dimensions. However the three dimensions of space can be complemented by a fourth one, the dimension of time. Sculpture as a (historical) phenomenon in time and its changes and sculpture as an action in time (process). Time taken as a sculptural material through the use of modern and contemporary techniques (photo, video and technical media). Time and passing of time in sculpture: the depiction of time as opposed to the visualization of time itself or sculptural forms realizing in time. Time lasting and ephemeral materials in sculpture.
Applicants are required to possess a high level art historical knowledge.
