Description of the research topic:

Current changes in stroke care have given for the pre-hospital care a prominent role, as the early diagnosis and evaluation of stroke and the organization of patient’s route are largely the responsibility of the ambulance service and primary care. A large number of studies are currently looking for methods to select patients already in the pre-hospital phase who could be candidate for a transfer to comprehensive stroke center for primary thrombectomy. Based on published data, the NIHSS scale appears to be the most appropriate score for the above issue. The aim of our research is to develop and test a video application that can be used in the management of an acute stroke patient, which enables the production of high-quality video recordings already during on-site patient care, and provides a stream connection between the stroke center and the ambulance. The NIHSS scale, which can be reliably recorded through the application, would provide an accurate assessment of the severity of the stroke, providing huge help in making prehospital decisions.
