Description of the research topic:
In case of drug resistant epilepsy, resective surgery is the best chance for achieving seizure freedom. In a part of drug-resistant cases, autoimmune mechanism is the cause of the epilepsy. Intracranial EEG must be performed in MRI-negative cases or in MRI-positive cases with discordant electrolinical and imagery data. During intracranial EEG monitoring, epileptogenic zone might be defined, thus a tailored resective surgery may become available. Main elements of the work are analysis of physiological and pathological high frequency oscillations; identifying positive predictive factors of seizure freedom.
