Description of the research topic:

It is now well-known that modern information and communication tools can be used successfully in order to preserve and restore health, not only among young people but also among elderly. A very important question is how different infocommunication tools can be used to measure mental functions and to identify and improve cognitive decline early. In our research, we want to explore the possibilities of using a well-known memory game among the elderly. In order to assess the potential role in the evaluation and monitoring of the cognitive function, the data obtained during the memory game are compared with validated cognitive tests, looking for the correlations between the individual cognitive domains. In our research, we are looking for the answer to how these results can be used in early detection and tracking of cognitive decline. According to our hypothesis, the rapid investigation and adequate treatment of the background of decline is a significant step forward in slowing down cognitive deterioration as well as in maintaining activity and autonomy.
