Description of the research topic:
The number of brain imaging studies (especially MRI) has increased significantly in the paediatric population in recent years. As a result, the number of discrepancies discovered in the brain has also increased. Incidentally, discovered variations (pineal gland cyst, arachnoid cyst, porencephalic cyst, corpus callosum anomalies, cave of septum pellucidum, mega cisterna magna, etc) can lead to uncertainty and to further unnecessary diagnostic steps. Goals of this research. 1 / to determine the prevalence of the incidentally discovered brain anomalies in different groups of children (children with headache, children with epilepsy, children with intellectual disabilities), 2 / to classify the variations of the different subgroups, 3 / to determine how these incidentally discovered have to be evaluated in the clinical practice.
