Description of the research topic:
The Slavic languages developed in close interaction with each other throughout their known history. It was the Church Slavonic language of South Slavic origins that had the deepest impact on the Russian language, but there was also a significant Ukrainian and White Russian influence and, both with the trasmission of these and directly, a Polish impact, which also transmitted elements of the Chech language to Russian, which in the 18th-19th century played an important part in the reforming of the Serbian and Bulgarian Standard language, and had an impact on other Slavic languages as well.
