Description of the research topic:

The study of emotions has been of major interest to cognitive linguists from the very beginning of cognitive linguistics. Studies have demonstrated the prototype character, the metaphoric-metonymic construction, and the embodied nature of emotion concepts. The research will focus on these topics, as well as adding a crosslinguistic dimension to it (on the example of English and other languages) and discussing any methodological issues that are relevant to study emotion concepts.
