Theories and methods of researching the translation of science and scientific/academic discourse; the interdisciplinary nature of the field, the translation of terminological, lexical, syntactic, discourse (rhetorical) structural, register, stylistic, cognitive and pragmatic phenomena; culture-specific discourse conventions and expectations; researching the translation of the various academic/scientific genres, groups of translators and language pairs; translating different disciplines; lingusitic/cultural differences in the way of creating/configuring knowledge.
