Description of the research topic:

ELF is defined is pragmatic terms as a multilingual context of use which is dynamic and fluid in its nature due to the diversity of its speakers both in terms of language and culture. ELF research, therefore, necessarily includes a complexity approach as well as the investigation of the notion of context and, among others, the communication strategies ELF speakers exploit to negotiate meaning.
