Description of the research topic:
"Fluorescence imaging is one of the most widely used tool for detecting processes in neurobiology and cell biology. These techniques require fluorescent sensors to visualize the processes in the areas to be investigated. The main goal of the PhD project is to develop new, highly efficient dyes and sensors that have beneficial properties, enabling their application in different areas of two-photon (2P) microscopy. The project consists of the quantum chemical design of the target compounds, the synthetic development of the desired new molecules, structure determination, spectroscopic characterization, and in vitro application.
