Description of the research topic:

"During the processing route, the metallic polycrystalline systems are subjected to numerous transformations, which account for morphological, phase, or crystallographic changes. These mesoscopic alterations are quite complex even in the single-phase materials and conditioned by numerous technological parameters such as the degree of straining, strain rate, process temperature, etc. In the case of non-conventional technologies, the microstructural correlation between the consecutive processing steps is further complicated by numerous unrevealed phenomena, which are yet to be discovered. The major aim of this work is to explain the evolution of microstructure and crystallographic texture in metals during conventional and non-conventional deformation processes and subsequent annealing. Another goal is to adjust the processing tuning parameters to achieve the proper microstructural and texture features which will enhance the properties of materials necessary for a particular technological performance.
The materials characterization will involve advanced techniques such as Electron Microscopy, Optical microscopy, Electron Back Scattering Diffraction, Micro and Nanoindentation, while the modeling will be carried out by means of well-established continuum mechanics based models such as finite element or flow line or other related analytical approaches.
