Description of the research topic:

The terahertz (THz) pulse-based proton acceleration, when applied as an innovative technique, involves manipulating and accelerating protons to high energies within extremely short time frames using intense terahertz pulses. By utilizing these powerful terahertz pulses, researchers aim to achieve more efficient and controllable proton acceleration, opening up possibilities for applications such as imaging, cancer therapy, and fundamental physics research. The unique properties of terahertz radiation make this research area promising for advancements in proton acceleration and the exploration of new avenues in particle physics. The research project focuses on the development of advanced methods and numerical codes for generating high-energy THz pulses and accelerating protons.
